BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Partnership, a local economic development organization, announced on Monday, January 8, the launch of the Crawford Business Exchange (CBX). This new initiative aims to connect investors, entrepreneurs, and others with business acquisition, franchise, investment, and start-up opportunities in Crawford County.

CBX is designed to facilitate the flow of entrepreneurial talent and capital to these opportunities. Over the years, successful businesses in Crawford County have closed due to management retirement and lack of successors. Similarly, franchise opportunities and entrepreneurs have struggled to find the necessary capital and management. CBX aims to bridge this gap.

The first opportunity to be posted on CBX is Project Award, a 30-year-old business for sale with multiple revenue stream possibilities, including rental housing, food, accommodation, and more. The current owner wishes to retire this year. In line with CBX’s policy, the names of businesses for sale are typically kept anonymous.

Interested parties should review the lead details on the CBX page and then contact David Zak via email at davidz@crawfordpartnership.org or by cell at 419.912.1150. The Partnership will pre-qualify interested parties and pass that information on to the owner, who will contact any they wish to. The lead will remain open until Monday, February 5, 2024.

Additionally, an email list is available for individuals to sign up for notifications of future opportunities and receive status updates on existing ones. To be added to the list, contact David Zak.

Crawford County Commission President Tim Ley expressed his support for the initiative, stating, “We support this new effort to help good Crawford County businesses stay open and continue for years to come. These businesses are the backbone of our economy.”
