The Crawford Park District hosted a special program Tuesday evening at Lowe-Volk Nature Center, for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.
Naturalist Lisa Bogard led the event and said the idea came from some parents. Bogard said she was contacted by parents who said they would love to be involved in nature programs at the center but worried their children with Autism might be disruptive to other children and families.
Bogard added that she hopes to continue programs like this where parents will find a safe, fun environment for their children to explore nature.
