CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Park District has announced a series of nature-focused programs for April, offering activities for all ages.

On April 1, at 5:30 p.m., Lowe-Volk Park will host “Animal Fools’ Day,” where naturalist Lisa will discuss animal trickery and introduce attendees to wildlife ambassadors.

Homeschoolers aged 5-12 can participate in “Homeschool in Nature: Planting Trees” on April 3 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., also at Lowe-Volk Park. Participants will plant native flora to restore habitats after removing invasive species. Registration is required by calling 419-683-9000.

An “Artifact Hunt” will take place April 5 at 10 a.m. at Lowe-Volk Park, inviting the public to search for prehistoric artifacts in nearby farm fields. Attendees are advised to dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.

Later that day, April 5 at 2 p.m., families can join a “Spring Peepers” program at Carpenter’s Bottom to listen for and find chorus frogs and spring peepers. Waterproof boots are recommended.

On April 7, at 5:30 p.m., Lowe-Volk Park will host “Feeding Day,” where participants can assist in feeding the Nature Center’s animals.

“Face to Face: Frogs and Toads” will be held April 9 at 5:30 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park, with naturalist Donald introducing attendees to frog and toad species.

Finally, “Little Explorers: Birds,” an interactive program for children ages 0-5, will take place April 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park.
