CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— The Crawford Park District has announced a series of events for the end of July and beginning of August, offering residents a variety of outdoor activities to enjoy this summer.
Archery Event at Lowe-Volk Park
On Thursday, July 25, from 5-7pm, the park will host an archery event. Participants will learn the basics of archery, including safety and shooting techniques. All equipment will be provided. Interested individuals can register by calling the Crawford Park District at 419-683-9000.
Night Sky Viewing at Lowe-Volk Park
On Saturday, July 27, at 9:15pm, the Crawford Park Astronomy Club will host a night sky viewing event. Participants will have the opportunity to observe various celestial sights, including the Big Dipper, Arcturus, Corona Borealis, Hercules, M92, the Cat’s Eye Nebula, Scorpius, and the center of the Milky Way.
Schanzenbach Prairie Tour
On Thursday, August 1, at 6pm, join the Crawford Park District for a special program to discover a local prairie. Mark Schanzenbach has been converting rolling farm ground into a conservation oasis, enhancing the landscape with tallgrass prairie and wetlands.
Feeding Day at Lowe-Volk Park
On Monday, August 5, at 2pm, visitors can help prepare meals for the animal ambassadors of the Crawford Park District. The animals enjoy a variety of foods, from worms and mice to leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables.
