The MedCentral Crawford Health and Urgent Care center will close November 22. MedCentral sent notification letters to patients so they could transition their care to another provider.
MedCentral acting CEO and President Joe Chamberlain said, “People in rural regions often have difficulties getting adequate health care. We were encouraged to provide expert health care services in Bucyrus.
“However due to financial constraints and nuances relative to reimbursement, the business model never evolved as we envisioned.”
Chamberlain said MedCentral will maintain the facility at 1820 E. Mansfield St. for future expansion of health care services in the Bucyrus area.
MedCentral took over ownership of the Crawford Health and Urgent Care Center in April of 2012. The 11 employees working at the rural health clinic were given first consideration for open positions within the health system.
