BUCYRUS — A crowd of farm equipment enthusiasts braved some dreary weather to experience the second day of the 18th Annual Crawford Farm Machinery Show at the Crawford County Fairgrounds on Friday.

Bucyrus resident Jeff Laipply said that a little wet weather could not keep his 7-year-old grandson, Logan Laipply who attends Wynford Elementary, from seeing some of his favorite tractors.

“Logan is really into tractors,” Jeff said. “Rain or shine he wants to come out and see the antique tractors.”

Agreeing with the green and yellow hat he was wearing, Logan said his favorite tractors are any made by John Deere. He did say, however, that his toy collection at home does include other brands, and he likes to see all brands of older tractors while visiting the show.

Jeff added that he especially enjoys getting to see people he knows around the show, and Logan even runs into a few friends as well at times.

However, Jeff said his favorite part of the show is having a local and affordable event to take his grandson to, and share a bonding experience over.

Logan said he likes to spend time with his grandpa too.

Despite the rainy conditions, other events are taking place indoors at the machinery show.

A purse bingo is happening at 6 p.m. Friday evening, and a quilt show is taking place at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Both events are in the youth building at the fairgrounds.

Other events Saturday include a car show at 9 a.m., and a kiddie tractor pull at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A Paw Patrol meet and greet is schedule for 10 a.m.

The car show activities at the event will be moved into the youth building if the weather calls for it.
