CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford County History Alliance’s Summer Passport Program recently came to a successful conclusion with bus tours taking participants to various historical locations across the county over the past two weeks. The program aimed to celebrate the rich history of Crawford County and encourage community engagement with local historical organizations.
As the program wrapped up, a drawing for prizes was held at the Crawford County Arts Council on Friday, bringing excitement and anticipation to those who had diligently collected stamps in their passports.
The grand prize, a flat-bottomed quart-sized handmade copper kettle generously donated by the Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works, was awarded to Holly Young of Galion. Young’s fully stamped passport made her eligible for this exceptional prize.
In addition to the grand prize, fourteen other lucky participants had their names drawn for various rewards. These fortunate winners hailed from various locations, including Columbus, Bloomville, Vermilion, and the Crawford County area.
The Crawford County History Alliance’s Summer Passport Program served as a unifying force, drawing together the community to explore and appreciate the stories, artifacts, and offerings of local historical organizations. Participants, organizations, and history enthusiasts alike agreed that the program played a vital role in promoting the county’s rich history.
The Crawford County History Alliance (CCHA), a newly formed organization, played a pivotal role in orchestrating this initiative. Serving as a roundtable and think tank for small historical organizations in Crawford County, CCHA aims to foster collaboration, resource-sharing, and mutual support among these groups.
Winners of the prizes will soon be contacted, and passports will be returned to those who have requested them. The CCHA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, organizations, and individuals who contributed to the success of the Summer Passport Program, emphasizing the importance of community involvement and engagement in preserving and celebrating local history.
