The Ohio Development Services Agency awarded 39 communities grants to assist with rental payment assistance and rehabilitating, repairing, and constructing affordable housing for low-income Ohioans. The Community Housing Impact and Preservation grants total nearly $27 million.

“We work with local communities to improve our neighborhoods and the quality of life for all Ohioans,” said David Goodman, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency.

The Community Housing Impact and Preservation program uses a flexible, community-wide approach to improving affordable housing for low- and moderate-income Ohioans and improve neighborhoods in Ohio communities.

Crawford County will receive a $750,000 grant to partner with the cities of Bucyrus and Galion to complete the rehabilitation of 12 homes, repairs at 17 homes, repairs at 12 rental homes, and provide rental assistance to three families.

Morrow County will receive a $400,000 grant to complete the rehabilitation of three homes, repairs at 12 homes, provide rental assistance to 10 families, and help build a home with Habitat for Humanity.

The Cities of Lancaster, Mt. Vernon, and Newark also received grants.
