BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A single-vehicle rollover crash on State Route 19 has left a Bucyrus man hospitalized with serious injuries, authorities said. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a distress call at 9:58 PM on June 18, 2024, concerning the accident just west of the intersection with Iberia Road.

Adam C. Ray, 46, was identified as the driver of a blue 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck that was found on its side in the southeast lane of SR 19. Emergency responders from the Galion Fire Department, along with sheriff’s deputies, arrived at the scene to find the vehicle overturned.

The preliminary investigation suggests that Ray’s vehicle was heading northwest on SR 19 when it veered off the south side of the road, colliding with a mailbox and a sign. The pickup truck subsequently struck a guardrail and rolled several times before coming to a halt on its side in the roadway.

Rescue workers utilized the jaws of life to extricate Ray from the wreckage. He was initially taken to Galion Community Hospital and later transferred to the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus for further treatment. As of June 19, 2024, Ray remains in the hospital receiving care for his injuries sustained in the crash.

No other occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The crash is still under investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. The damaged vehicle was removed from the scene by Ronk’s Towing.
