Press release

The Crawford County Republican Women’s Club announced today that it will hold a Candidate’s Night on February 22, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the Bucyrus High School Little Theatre.

The purpose of this event is to provide the citizens of Crawford County with an opportunity to learn more about those candidates who are seeking to win the Republican nomination from voters in the March 9, 2016 primary. 29 letters of invitations to participate in the Candidate’s Night were sent to individuals that filed a petition and declaration to seek the Republican nomination for Federal, State, and County elected office.

According to President Joyce Schifer, “the Crawford County Republican Women’s Club is sponsoring this event within the organization’s objectives and purpose to give exposure to and work actively for all Republican Candidates, and to lend support to the activities of other Republican Organizations such as the Republican Central Committee of Crawford County”.

The format for the Candidate’s Night will include an opportunity for each candidate, or their representative, to provide some basic information about themselves, and why they are seeking voter approval for the elected position being sought by the candidate. The format will also include a question and answer period whereby candidates will be asked questions from the audience, and from questions prepared in advance by the Crawford County Republican Women’s Club. Information will also be available on Presidential candidates.

Every effort is being made to videotape the event so that citizens and voters will have an opportunity to learn about the Republican candidates even if they were unable to attend the live event.

Candidates will be available to talk more with audience participants at the conclusion of the event that is anticipated to be no later than 8:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

“The Crawford County Republican Women’s Club is very excited to host this Candidate’s Night, as we truly believe that it is important to provide our community with an opportunity to learn more about our Republican Candidates who are seeking elected office. I would like to encourage the citizens of Crawford County to attend what we hope will be a very informative and worthwhile public service event for our community”, said President Schifer.
