BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, a free, family-friendly event will be held on April 5, 2025, at the Trillium Event Center in Bucyrus.

The event, aimed at families with children from birth to age 10, will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1630 E. Southern Ave.

Attendees can participate in a variety of activities and access resources, including rock painting, “Bunny Garden” planting, face painting, balloon art, recipe preparation, and enjoy snacks like popcorn and fruit. Free books and rubber ducks will also be available.

The event will feature raffle prizes for both children and caregivers, with drawings every 15 minutes. Children can win bikes, Squishmallows, and other surprises, while caregivers can win items such as smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, Life Vacs, wagons, pack ‘n plays, and baby gates. Attendees must be present to win.

Each attendee will receive a free ice cream cone from Mark’s Ice Cream Truck, while supplies last. Children can also meet and take photos with Princesses Elsa and Anna from the movie “Frozen.” A family-friendly DJ will provide music and entertainment.

The event is designed to raise awareness about child abuse prevention and support local families. It is presented by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, Ohio Children’s Trust Fund, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Center for Family Safety and Healing, and Crawford County Public Health.
