CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Crawford County Mentors has reached a significant milestone, announcing that the program, which officially opened its doors in June 2025, now has more than 15 trained mentors ready to begin building relationships with local young people.

To celebrate this momentum and recruit additional participants, the organization will host two “Discover Mentorship” events next week for both families and prospective adult volunteers.

“We are truly energized by the outpouring of support in our community,” shared Victoria Caldwell, the Executive Director of Crawford County Mentors. “With more than 15 mentors ready to begin, we are seeing firsthand how much our county believes in showing up for its youth. We can’t wait to welcome even more families, students, and adults into this growing movement.”

The events aim to answer questions and connect caring adults and interested students with the new program, which is dedicated to building safe, positive, and encouraging one-to-one relationships.

The first event, “Discover Being a Mentee,” is for students in grades 6–12 and their parents or guardians. Attendees can learn how a supportive relationship can boost confidence and help young people see their potential.

  • When: Monday, Dec. 2, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: Bucyrus Public Library

The second event, “Discover Mentorship,” is for adults interested in becoming mentors. It offers a chance to meet the team, hear the program’s vision, and learn how rewarding the commitment can be.

  • When: Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
  • Where: Grace Point Church, Galion
