The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that took the life of a Crawford County man Thursday evening.

Deputies, along with members of the Holmes Township Volunteer Fire Department and Life Support Team EMS, were dispatched at 6:48 p.m. to the scene of a two-vehicle injury crash on Ohio 19, north of Bucyrus, at the intersection with Quaker Road.

According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, a white 2012 Honda Accord, driven by a 42-year-old Crawford County man, was traveling south on Ohio 19 and lost control of his vehicle on the west roadway. The man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene while the woman was taken to Bucyrus Community Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.

Family members of the deceased have not been notified and the Sheriff’s Office will release the identities of the victims to the public at a later date.

The crash remains under investigation and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
