BUCYRUS — The Board of Directors of Peoples Savings and Loan Company announced the appointment of Renae A. Cox as Executive Vice President/CEO.
Cox is a 1980 graduate of Wynford High School. She joined Peoples in 1983 as a teller. In 1987, she moved to the accounting department and was named accounting manager in 2002. In 2012, Cox joined the Board of Directors and was appointed secretary/treasurer. She has 37 years of experience working in the financial industry.
Her areas of focus and professional training have included ACH processing, wire-transfers, individual retirement accounts, call-report preparation and all areas of accounting.
Prior to joining Peoples Savings and Loan Company, Cox worked in the engineering department at Wire Assemblies and has worked part-time at H&R Block. Cox lives with her husband Robert and has three adult children, Adam, Jared and Rachel. She is a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church where she serves as a co-secretary for the council, a past member of the Bucyrus Area Jaycees, and a past treasurer for the Wynford Academic Boosters.
Cox replaces Steven C. Shields who retired as CEO on May 30. Shields was with the People Savings and Loan Company for 40 years and served as the CEO since 2013. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1991 and will continue to serve on the Board as President.
Peoples Savings and Loan was founded in 1888 and is fully insured by the FDIC.

Peoples Savings and Loan Company is located at 300 South Walnut Street in Bucyrus, and has a branch located at 1530 North Sandusky Street in Bucyrus.
