NORTH ROBINSON—At the Col. Crawford school board meeting on Monday night, superintendent Todd Martin informed the board that there is an individual within the school that is quarantining due to testing positive for coronavirus.
The individual is a staff member that has very little interaction with children or adults. As of right now, there are no active confirmed student cases, but there are sixteen students who are quarantining. Aside from the one staff member who has the virus, there is one other staff member in quarantine. To see the updated numbers on the virus, individuals can go to the school’s website, www.cck12.org, and the COVID dashboard is in the top right-hand corner of the page.
“The kids have done amazing with wearing their masks, using sanitizer, and trying to social distance when possible. The adults have done well, too. We are just blessed with how things have panned out,” Mr. Martin said.
The school teamed up with Verizon to provide hotspots to help those students who do not have access to the internet at home. Chromebooks and laptops are being sent home with students to complete their assignments.
Leo Club will still be having Spook Alley this year, but it will be a drive-through. Cars will pull up into a line and students will get out of the car and get their picture taken for costume judging to be done later, and will walk along and be handed candy. This will take place on October 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Hannah Crawford Elementary. Spook Alley is for all kids up through fifth grade.
Board members expressed their sympathy for the family of former board president, Mike Willacker, who tragically passed last week. The members noted how kind he was to everyone, he was a pleasure to work with, and that he is greatly missed.
The next board meeting is November 23 at 7:00 p.m.
