The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District is offering producers the opportunity to seed cover crops into standing crops for late summer 2015. The SWCD is offering two seed options for fall cover crops, cereal rye and a more diverse cover crop mix of cereal rye, rapeseed, vetch and clover.
Applications will be performed with a high clearance air seeder through Buckeye Soil Solutions in August. Minimum field size is approximately 10 acres, with no maximum acreage. Program cost will start at $35.15/acre, which includes application and seed cost.
Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Crawford SWCD office before June 15, 2015 for an application. Cost share funds may be available for this program. If you would like more information on this application program or cover crops in general, please contact the Crawford SWCD office at 419-562-8280.
