Sometimes there is such a thing as being too successful and that is apparently the situation the Crawford County Solid Waste Management District is in regarding its tire collection program.
Because of issues with the amount of tires being brought in by the public, the policy for dropping off tires is a limit of four per vehicle, per day. That figure includes tires from lawn mowers, bicycles, and trailers. Only two of the four tires permitted may be semi or tractor tires. The rims must be removed.
Free tire collection at the Recycling Center is for Crawford County residents only and is Mondays through Fridays. Individuals must show ID and proof of residency when dropping off tires.
