BUCYRUS — The service-safety director’s report read at the recent Bucyrus City Council meeting told council that leaf pick up is underway.
Service-Safety Director Jeff Wagner’s report said the city’s crews will be going through and picking up leaves and asked residents to put their leaves in the tree lawn and not on the street.
The City of Bucyrus website said residents also may take their leaves to the city compost Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 8-2 or Saturday’s from 8-1. Residents also may bag leaves for normal garbage pick-up.
Council also was told the Plymouth street paving should be finished this week with weather permitting.
City officials shared the upcoming holiday schedule for the city staff.
All non-emergency offices will be closed Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans Day. The Monday garbage route will run on Tuesday, and residents are asked to have their trash out by 7 a.m.
In observance of Thanksgiving, all non-emergency offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23. The Thursday garbage route will run on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and Friday garbage routes will be run on Monday, Nov. 26.
For Christmas and New Year’s Day, all non-emergency offices will be closed December 24-25th and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Christmas Eve’s garbage route will run Friday, Dec. 21, and Christmas’s garbage route will be run on Dec. 26. New Year’s Eve’s garbage routes will be run on Dec. 28 and New Year’s Day’s garbage route will be run on Jan. 2.
Council was informed of Kroger’s grand reopening Nov. 7, and Wendy’s grand reopening is Nov. 15.
This year’s Santa Parade is Friday, Nov. 16 from 6-8 p.m.
