CRESTLINE — According to Crestline Law Director Rob Ratliff, there has been no development in the lawsuit against the city.

“There is no reason to be worried,” Ratliff said.

During the meeting, council voted against approving a lease extension with the American Red Cross at 102 N. Thoman St.

Currently, the American Red Cross pays approximately $130 per month to use the building, but to rent out rooms, the Red Cross charges $50-$100. While members wanted it known that not passing the resolution had nothing to do with ill feelings towards the Red Cross, but rather they would want a fair deal.

The vote was 4-1, with council member Beverly Payne being the only one who voted in favor of the lease extension.

Council voted to pass Ordinance No. 3238, authorizing the village administrator to enter into a contract with Buckeye Excavating as the lowest and best bidder for the Main Street Waterline Replacement Project Phase 1.

Buckeye Excavating submitted the lowest bid of $322,225, and the cost of the project is not to exceed that amount.

The Crestline Police Department soon will be implementing a program this holiday season to where if you get pulled over for something that is not considered a major offence, instead of having to pay the fine on the ticket, the motorist may buy a toy and donate it to a toy drive.

The police department is also kicking off a toy drive for the holidays in conjunction with Menards this Thursday at 2 p.m.
