BUCYRUS — A Bucyrus City Council member has decided to enter his name into the race for Bucyrus mayor.
Dan Wirebaugh, who sits on Bucyrus City Council as a democrat, has announced his candidacy as an independent.
A lifelong resident of Bucyrus, Wirebaugh said he has the knowledge as a resident, business owner and government official to “Build a Better Bucyrus.”
He addressed some of what he considered his accomplishments as a council member.
“During my time on City Council I have helped to put more Police on our streets, build a new water filtration plant, been instrumental in cleaning up derelict properties and tried with great effort to only spend your tax dollars when absolutely necessary,” Wirebaugh said in his release.
“I believe I have the leadership skills, experience, determination and passion to move our fine city forward,” he added. “I promise to work hard to achieve these goals, listen to your input and lead Bucyrus into its next century.”
Wirebaugh’s complete release may be read below.
