CRESTLINE — Area resident Lonny Parrella came to the Crestline Village Council meeting Monday evening to request village water service to a residence he recently purchased for his son.
Parella said the house is located near Sunrise and a water line is already available in the area.
Council member Gene Toy said that if someone wants water outside the village limits they normally must annex into the village.
Village Administrator John Rostash said Parrella will need to take the issue before the village’s planning commission and he will help him through the process.
Also during the meeting, council approved the hiring of two part-time firefighters and emergency medical technicians, including Anthony Eldridge and Jacob Shaw. A resolution to modify the compensatory time carryover in the Crestline Policy and Procedures Manual was held to a first reading.
Rostash said the Historical Society Car Show will be on Seltzer Street on July 28. He also gave updates on the Livingston sanitary sewer extension.
“Kelstin Inc. started installing the main sewer line on West Livingston Avenue. The project area is from the bridge at South Pearl Street to the intersection at South Wiley Street,” Rostash said.
Rostash said Kelstin also is the contractor for the demolition of a house at 216 N. Washington St. that is nearly complete.
Rostash said things are going well at the Crestline Municipal Pool.
“I am very proud of our team working at the pool,” he said. “They have exemplified our Crestline team values and are working hard to provide a great customer experience,” Rostash said.
He also said proper swim attire requirements have been put in place that everyone needs to follow.
