TIRO — During its regular meeting Wednesday evening, Tiro Village Council discussed what to do about a building in the village that previously was a meat locker.
Council members said the building has been in bad shape for about three years, but within the last year it has gotten much worse, and council is worried the building will fall.
According to an ordinance passed in 2017, village residents must keep their properties clean and safe, and council said the building is deemed to be unsafe.
Council is looking into further action as what to do.
During the old business portion of the meeting, council discussed the need to establish a fund for a park project to be able to deposit donations and/or grants and purchase needed equipment.
Council’s next meeting is Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. Council voted to move the December meeting to Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
