GALION — Galion City Council heard and passed multiple ordinances during its meeting Tuesday evening.
The first of which was Ordinance No. 2019-42, which is an ordinance that entitles a pole attachment license agreement with Everstream Solutions.
Everstream Solutions is an internet service provider based out of Cleveland and the company is looking to connect from Cleveland to Columbus.
This agreement would allow for approximately 121 street light and utility poles to be used to run the internet fiber line on the company path to Columbus.
If any of the wires are damaged, the company is responsible for repairing them instead of the city.
Everstream would pay the city an annual attachment fee of $10 per attachment and $30 per non-standard attachment.
This ordinace was moved to its second reading instead of being passed with an emergency clause for council members to ask questions to an Everstream representative at the next meeting.
Also during the meeting, council passed Ordinance 2019-45, which amends ordinance 2018-71 by appropriating funds from unappropriated funds in the general fund.
The money will be used to outfit three new police cruisers the city purchased. There is no delivery date on the cruisers as of now.
Though Mayor O’Leary was in attendance at the meeting, the council members expressed their appreciation of him allowing people to go to the pool last week free of charge when there was a heat index.
The next council meeting is August 13 at 7 p.m.
