BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) In a sentence delivered today in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court, convicted rapist Bradley Heater, 58,  received a sentence of 25 to 30.5 years in prison.
The sentencing came after Judge Sean Leuthold heard arguments from both sides, including Crawford County Assistant Prosecutor Dan Stanley and defense attorney Andrew Motter.

During the proceedings, Motter urged the court to impose concurrent sentences, contending that the rapes constituted one continuous incident.
In contrast, Assistant Prosecutor Stanley advocated for a more severe penalty of 42 years, emphasizing the gravity of Heater’s crimes.

Following the sentencing, Assistant Prosecutor Stanley told Crawford County Now:

“It is my hope that being vindicated by the jury, the victim in this case can find peace and live her life without any fear that this rapist will harm anyone else,” Stanley stated.

He pointed out that given Heater’s age, Judge Leuthold’s sentence should provide the victim with the security she deserves.

Stanley also acknowledged the collective effort of the judicial system, saying; “Thanks to the jurors, the police, and a strong young lady, justice can take that step forward.”Stanley said.
