A motorcycle-van injury crash on Woodlawn Avenue Saturday at 4:50 p.m. still is under investigation by the Bucyrus Police Department.

According to Bucyrus Police Chief Dave Koepke, a maroon Ventura mini-van, driven by Nancy Davis, pulled from a parking space on Woodlawn Avenue into the path of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Marvin Wayne Bloomfield.

Bloomfield was taken from the scene by Life Support Team Ambulance to Bucyrus Community Hospital with serious injuries. He was then taken by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he remained Monday.

According to Bloomfield’s daughter, Aimee Bloomfield, he suffered fractures in his back and a broken collarbone along with stiches in his neck and hand.

“My dad is ok and very lucky. He is talking and has expressed his concern for the lady that hit him,” Aimee Bloomfield said. “He wants to make sure she is okay.”

She said she and her family are grateful for all of the prayers and messages of concern from the local residents for her dad.

Koepke said the crash remains under investigation, and troopers from the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.
