BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford County Fair is set to kick off in just under a month, running from July 14-19, offering a variety of new attractions and returning favorites for attendees of all ages.

Amy Hughes, representing the Crawford County Fair, highlighted several upcoming events and additions. “We’re looking forward to it this year,” Hughes said in an interview. “It seems like it gets here faster every year.”

Kids Day on Wednesday

Wednesday, July 16, will be dedicated to Kids Day, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A full schedule of activities is planned, including a ponytail contest, a free throw contest, and a bubble gum blowing contest. Children can also look forward to seeing fire trucks from the fire department, a “Whizbang Science Show,” and a football and softball throwing contest. Face painting, sponsored by Hoard Livestock, will also be available.

“We have all kinds of door prizes,” Hughes added, noting that prizes are already coming in for the event.

New Attractions and Returning Favorites

This year’s fair will introduce a motocross race on Tuesday and a Wiener dog race on Thursday, which will take place before and during the harness races. A new ground act, circus trapeze, will perform throughout the week. The popular wood carver will also be returning to showcase his skills.

Daily Sponsors and Community Involvement

Each day of the fair will feature a dedicated sponsor:

  • Monday: Wombat Solar
  • Tuesday: North Central Electric
  • Wednesday: Avita Health System
  • Thursday: Council on Aging
  • Friday: Burkhardt Farm Center
  • Saturday: Ohio Department of Youth and Children

These sponsors will have tents set up for visitors to explore and learn more about their organizations.

Additionally, the Holmes Township Fire Department will once again host a toy drive for John Schieffer on Monday. Toys can also be dropped off at their trailer throughout Kids Day.
