BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Crawford County Public Health is preparing for a busy summer and fall with several key events, according to Kate Siefert, Health Commissioner.
On Thursday, Aug. 7, a baby shower for pregnant mothers will be held at the Avita Galion cafeteria from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Call 419-562-5859 to RSVP.
The major highlight is GuardCare 2025 on Aug. 9-10 at the Crawford County Board of DD’s Campus. Ohio National Guard medical teams will provide no-cost healthcare services, including dental (fillings, extractions), vision, mammography, blood labs, physicals, and EKGs. No ID is required.
GuardCare will also feature a resource fair with free car seats and bike helmets. Community support is vital for this event, as the Guard operates without a budget for supplies. Volunteers and business donations for goodie bags are still needed.
In September, the “Amplified Expressions of Our Journey” event at the Galion Theatre will showcase recovery stories through art, emphasizing that “recovery is possible.”
Siefert encouraged community participation in GuardCare and urged residents to follow Crawford County Public Health on Facebook for updates.
