BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—As the Crawford County Fair approaches, Amy Hughes from the Crawford County Fairgrounds shared exciting details about the upcoming events during a recent community spotlight interview with Randy Bigley.

“We’re a little distance away from the fair, but it will be here before you know it,” Hughes said. This year’s fair promises a variety of entertainment and activities for all ages.

Admission remains at $10, which includes all mechanical rides. Additional attractions like pony rides and a trackless train will be available for an extra fee. Children under 36 inches tall can enter for free. The admission fee also covers 4H open class, junior fair livestock events, and grandstand entertainment on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Monday will feature a calf scramble, while Wednesday and Thursday will host harness racing, including a new Wiener dog race. “We’ll have a heat at the beginning, middle, and end of the harness racing,” Hughes explained.

Ground entertainment includes the Circus Incredibles and a toss event on Thursday for junior fair kids and adults. A new addition this year is Kids Day, featuring activities like softball throw, football throw, and a ponytail contest.

The grandstand schedule includes a motocross race on Tuesday, harness racing and Wiener dog races on Wednesday and Thursday, a tractor pull on Friday, and a demolition derby on Saturday. The pig scramble, sponsored by AgCredit, will take place in the arena on Saturday at 7 p.m.

In addition to the fair events, the fairgrounds host flea markets and other activities throughout the year. The fair is also seeking a new secretary, with applications currently being reviewed.
