BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Bucyrus Little Theatre is set to bring fast-paced physical comedy to the local stage with its upcoming production of Neil Simon’s “Rumors,” opening Thursday, Feb. 26.
Directed by Jason Chandler, the play is a classic American farce centered on a 10th-anniversary party gone wrong. When guests arrive to find their host injured and his wife missing, they must navigate a web of misunderstandings and potential scandal before the police arrive.
“It is a farce comedy—big physical comedy, lots of action, and quick-witted, sharp, fast lines,” Chandler said during a recent Community Spotlight interview.
The cast of 10 features local performers including Scott Smith, Joe Loftus, Elizabeth Schryer, and Karellyn Sterling. Kristie Chandler, who plays Cassie in the production, noted that while the show is a comedic mystery, the “adult themes and language” make it an ideal date-night event rather than a show for young children.
Performances are scheduled for Feb. 26, 27, and 28 at 7:30 p.m., with a final matinee on Sunday, March 1, at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Reservations can be made at the theater box office or online at bucyruslittletheatre.com. The theater is located at 130 Songer Ave.
