BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The AVITA Health System Bucyrus Auxiliary is preparing for its annual Christmas Open House, a major fundraiser that supports both community education and patient care. Auxiliary representative Nancy McMurray said the two-day event will be held on Friday, Nov. 7 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Saturday, Nov. 8 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at the hospital.
The proceeds primarily fund four $1,000 scholarships each year for graduating high school seniors and adult students pursuing health or allied health fields. Funds also support “patient comfort items,” such as toys for children in the emergency room, requested by hospital departments.
The open house, which offers 20% off all merchandise, will fill both the gift shop and a large conference room with holiday décor, OSU merchandise, clothing, jewelry, and specialty items. A notable product line is Tap to Pray keychains and wristbands, which provide a daily Bible verse and thought when tapped with a phone, with profits supporting human trafficking survivors who also help produce the items.
The Auxiliary, which is entirely volunteer-led and staffed, encourages the public to shop to support its mission of providing ancillary funds for the hospital and its patients.
