FINDLAY – When help is needed in Crawford County, the American Red Cross is there, to provide disaster relief, emergency services to the Armed Forces and military families, a safe blood supply for local hospitals and more. But recently it was the Red Cross asking for help and The Community Foundation for Crawford County answered that call.
Through a generous gift from the Community Foundation, in partnership with Donley Ford of Galion, the Crawford County Red Cross received a new van to be used by local and regional Red Cross volunteers as they provide services to the community.
“The van we had was aging and incurring costly repairs on a regular basis,” said Todd James, Executive Director of the North Central Ohio Chapter. “We needed a vehicle that our volunteers could rely on as they respond to home fires, participate in community activities and support Red Cross services. Thanks to the Community Foundation for Crawford County, our volunteers are now better equipped to help in critical times of need.”
The Community Foundation works to enhance the quality of life for all residents of Crawford County by:
- Offering support (financial, expert/technical assistance) in response to emerging community needs.
- Standing ready to partner with community organizations and collaborative in support of promising innovations. The area community can rest assured that The Community Foundation for Crawford County is taking action to help. Watch for the co-marketed Escape in our area fire and flood response, as well as transporting blood products for processing and distribution.
“It’s with the support of partners like the Community Foundation that the Red Cross is able to be here whenever help is needed,” says James. “We truly appreciate the Community Foundation as a partner and a friend.”
