BUCYRUS – The Community Foundation for Crawford County recently awarded over $180,000 in competitive grants to local charitable organizations and schools.

Community grants went to the following:

  • Wildlife Haven — $5,000 towards animal food and interns
  • American Red Cross – $5,000 towards a Home Fire Preparedness program
  • Crawford County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society – $1,000 towards digitization of old Telegraph Forum newspapers
  • Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio – $7,680 towards programs in Crawford County classrooms
  • Alpha Recovery 12-Step Program – $10,000 for a remodel project at Jericho House
  • Bucyrus Area Youth Soccer Club – $6,000 towards a refrigerator/freezer
  • Colonel Crawford local schools – $5,034 towards updated playground equipment
  • Crawford County Education and Economic Development Partnership – $40,000 towards an interactive website that will benefit Crawford County businesses, students and residents
  • Crestline Historical Society – $21,150 towards a new boiler for heat and air conditioning
  • Crawford County Project Lifesaver – $4,527 for search and rescue equipment to assist in finding people who wander from certain medical conditions
  • Crawford County Education and Economic Development Partnership – $50,000 towards the ongoing 20/20 Vision initiative
  • Crawford Works – $20,000 towards connecting employers and job seekers
  • Crawford County Community Concert Association – $5,000 for booking artists
