The Community Foundation for Crawford County is pleased to announce the grant allocations for the first granting cycle of the year 2014.

COMPETITIVE GRANTS:
Alpha Recovery 12-Step Program Purchase of materials necessary to establish at least one new Recovery Program in Crestline, New Washington, Galion, and Bucyrus. $10,000.00
Buckeye Central School District Development and implementation of an Outdoor Learning Center. $15,367.00
Buckeye Robotics Additional VEX Robotics parts for Grades 7-12; new VEX IQ parts for Grades 4 – 6 $5,000.00
Bucyrus Little Theatre Funds for new vinyl siding on front and sides of theatre building; installation of restroom facilities in new building. $24,300.00
Bucyrus Police Department Purchase of K-9 dog; training for dog and handler. $20,000.00
Bucyrus Public Library Purchase of Sentry QuickCheck Patron Self-Check station; 5 new laptops running Windows 8.1. $14,842.00
Camp Michael Replacement of water softening system. $3,800.00
Galion City Schools Bus transportation and 10 individual class lessons for 8 students in the Raemelton Equine Therapy Program. $3,500.00
Galion Youth Baseball Club Matching grant for renovations necessary to meet ASAP (A Safety Awareness Program) standards, including fencing, pitching cages, backstop equipment; funds to purchase refrigerator & Popcorn Machine. $10,000.00
Golden Gems Senior Center Matching grant for siding on building to conserve heat to prevent pipes from freezing in restroom. $1,000.00
Harvey One-Room School Replacement of sidewalks, door, and handicap ramp & railing. $6,000.00
Safety Town Establishment of a Safety Town Program in Bucyrus. $2,800.00
St. Joseph School Replacement of walking track carpet $6,000.00
The Village of New Washington Provide permanent outdoor seating for gazebo area. $2,895.00
Wildlife Haven Intern scholarship and feed $5,000.00
TOTAL COMPETITIVE GRANTS $130,504.00

 

MULTI-YEAR GRANTS:
Crawford County Educational and Economic Development Partnership – Campaign Support Third and final payment on a 3 year $150,000 grant. $50,000.00
North Central State College Foundation – Develop a Higher Education Center in Bucyrus First payment of a 5 year $250,000 grant. $50,000.00
North Central State College Foundation – Develop Kehoe Center Campus in Shelby Third and final payment on a 3 year $20,000 grant. $10,000.00
Village of Crestline 3 Year $30,000 grant for construction of a facility for the Girls Softball League, contingent on documentation of remaining funds raised and proof that project will be completed. $10,000.00
TOTAL MULTI-YEAR GRANTS $120,000.00
   

The Community Foundation for Crawford County (fka The Bucyrus Area Community Foundation) was founded in 1984 as a public charity, started with a matching grant from the Timken Foundation. The Foundation serves the non-profit, educational and governmental agencies in our community.

Presently, the Community Foundation for Crawford County has an asset size of over $13 million dollars, placing it by asset size in the top 30 community foundations in Ohio. The CF4CC will award $300,000.00 in competitive grants to the non-profit community of Crawford County in 2014. Additional monies are awarded through designated funds and scholarships.
