Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Russell Wiseman has announced he will not be seeking another term on the bench and will retire from office. Wiseman indicated he will serve out the remainder of his current term which runs until Feb. 9, 2015.

Wiseman was appointed to that post by Gov. Bob Taft in 2002 and twice ran successfully for full six-year terms, first in November of 2002 and again in 2008. Wiseman served as the Crawford County Prosecutor and assistant County Prosecutor prior to taking over the Common Pleas Court bench. He also served as Judge Advocate General for the United States Marine Corps.

Combined, Wiseman has been in public service in one capacity or another for 30 years. The judge also expressed his appreciation the support he has been given and indicated he would miss working with his court staff.

Wiseman graduated from The Ohio State University and Capital University Law School.
