GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— On December 7, the annual “Come Home to Galion” event is set to unite the community in celebrating the upcoming holidays with a day filled with activities, food, and entertainment. This family-friendly event will culminate with a parade welcoming Santa to town and a beautiful tree lighting to mark the official start of the season.
The event continues to offer festive favorites such as cookie decorating, letters to Santa, singing, dancing, eating on the square, shopping locally, visiting with winter princesses, carriage rides, and tours through Brownella Cottage and the Galion Public Library. This year, organizers are planning to add even more holiday happenings.

“Come Home to Galion” is organized by a volunteer committee of local citizens, businesses, organizations, and churches. They are seeking donations to help expand the event. Contributions will assist with expenses for cookies, letters, entertainment, and advertising. Plans are in the works to create a small Winter Wonderland, which could remain up throughout December and possibly into January, providing a perfect winter atmosphere for strolls and photos.
Donations of $50, $100, $200 or more are being requested to support this ongoing holiday event. Contributors will be thanked on the “Come Home to Galion” banner displayed Uptowne during the event. Businesses interested in larger sponsorship opportunities, such as becoming the Parade Sponsor or Winter Wonderland Sponsor, are encouraged to contact Beth Anne.
