A fundraiser to benefit two injured Colonel Crawford High School students, Maci Risner and Dylan Spears, is being held Friday.
While Spears, a junior at Colonel Crawford, is home recovering from a serious hunting accident, Risner is still hospitalized after she was injured in a crash on Ohio 39 in Richland County on Sept. 30.
According to recent updates on Facebook by Risner’s family, she is awake and making progress. A Go Fund Me account has been set up by Vicki Spangler for the high school sophomore who suffered a traumatic
brain injury.
The benefit will feature a spaghetti dinner that includes a salad and bread will be offered before the Colonel Crawford homecoming football game from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Hannah and William Cafetorium. Dine in or carryout will be available for a donation of $8 per dinner for adults and $5 for children.
The event will include a bake sale, 50/50 drawing, raffles, a silent auction, and #Macistrong T-shirts will be sold at $10 each. Ice cream will be sold during the football game.
All proceeds from the event will be given to Risner and Spears’ families to help offset the costs of their medical expenses. The Go Fund Me account for Risner may be accessed at www.gofundme.com/macis-warrior-fund.
