The Colonel Crawford Board of Education turned to a familiar face to lead it during 2015 at the board’s annual organizational meeting Monday. Tim Ley was voted in as board president and Shane Stuckman will be vice president.
Ley explained it won’t be the first time he has been in that position of leadership.
“I feel very honored to be elected again, this is the second time for me to be board president,” Ley said. “I really believe in my board members and they did a great job in the past and I’m sure we will do a just as great job in the future.”
The board also made its committee assignments for the year. Those committee assignments are: Norm Huber and Mike Willacker on the Finance Committee; Stuckman and Willacker as legislative liasons; Ley and Huber on the Negotiations and Personnel; Huber and Stuckman on School Facilities and Buildings and Grounds Committee; and Margaret Hoyles and Ley on the Board Policy Review Committee.
Superintendent Todd Martin acted to increase the number of meetings board members are compensated for from 12 to 15. The increase brings Colonel Crawford in line with other districts in that area. It was also noted that construction project in the district is likely to lead to additional board meetings during the year.
