NORTH ROBINSON — The Colonel Crawford High School Chapter of the National Honor Society will be inducting 13 new members during a candlelight service on November 8 at 7 p.m. in The Margaret Linn Hoyles Center for the Performing Arts.

Alumnus and former NHS member Dr. Sarah Nigh Bruner will be the keynote speaker for the evening.

To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5. Additionally, candidates must meet high standards of service, leadership, and character. Students are reviewed by a faculty council consisting of five members of the faculty appointed by the principal.

This year’s inductees will join current members Brevin Balliett, Nick Barnes, Melany Bocka, Andrew Geiger, Danielle Horsley, Aaron King, Kyle Nebergall, Bailey Niedermier, Rachel Ritzhaupt, Madison Tieben and Bella Walter.

“We are very proud of our NHS students.” Principal Jake Bruner said. “These students have excelled both in and out of the classroom. Being inducted to the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors bestowed upon a high school student.”

NHS is the nation’s oldest and best-known student recognition program and was founded in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
