NORTH ROBINSON–The Colonel Crawford FFA Chapter opened up the board of education’s monthly meeting using the official FFA opening ceremony.
Members present were: president Olivia Chase; vice president Cecelia Chase; secretary Rylinn Edgington; treasurer Andrew Atkins; reporter Brianna Wiparina; student advisor Bergan Leonhardt; historian Brynn Bruner; and sentinel Jacob Lucius.
Their advisor, Josh Schieber, told the board that a group of eight FFA members attended a speaking competition at Wynford High School where they were the first place county Parliamentary Pro team, did well in the Creed contest where freshmen Sydney Stirm and Brianna Wiparina got first and second place, Olivia Chase won prepared speaking, Olivia and Cece both competed in extemporaneous. Andy Atkins and Jacob Lucius were on the second-place district tractor troubleshooting team, which included five stations with ten-year-old or newer equipment, and got beat by just one point.
The board approved Jake Bruner as the head football coach, Veronica Halberg as the head girls’ golf coach, Jordan Studer as the head cross country coach, and Nathan Hill as the head boys’ golf coach, all for the 2023-2024 school year.
The next meeting is March 20 at 7 p.m.
