NORTH ROBINSON, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — On Monday evening, the Colonel Crawford Board of Education held its October meeting and recognized five individuals: Wesley Williams, Anthony Adkins, Allison Parr, Averianne Van Buren, and Joseph Somogye, who all earned perfect scores on their state tests in the spring.
Those individuals received plaques to commemorate their achievement.
In other board business, the board approved the school campus as an OHSAA tournament site for football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, and track for the 2025–2026 school year.
The board held the first reading for many new or revised policies per the Ohio School Boards Association.
Several noted were on released time for religious instruction, which states students are allowed one hour per week only with parent permission; student conduct on district transportation added the word “vaping”; and student absences and excuses added that students trying to obtain their driver’s license may miss up to eight hours combined, and those times would be excused.
The board accepted the resignation of North Building night custodian Rory Furr due to ongoing health issues and urged the community to keep him in their thoughts while he continues his fight.
A $400 donation from the Bucyrus Elks and a $690 donation from Amvets Post 27 were accepted to go toward the Class of 2030 Washington, D.C., trip.
Joey Bauer was approved as the head high school boys track coach for the 2026 season.
The next board meeting is November 17 at 7 p.m.
