NORTH ROBINSON (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—On Monday evening, the Colonel Crawford Board of Education held its monthly meeting.

Ruthann Noblet, a former Hannah Crawford Elementary principal, spoke to the board about the Colonel Crawford Lions Club, which was chartered in 1971.

The club is active in the Colonel Crawford community, with events such as a pancake breakfast, Halloween Spook Alley, the Bratwurst Pitawurst trailer at the Bratwurst Festival, Project Lifesaver, vision screening for PreK-12 grade, working Crawford County Fair gates, recycling at Lowe-Volk Park, the Colonel Crawford log cabin, memorial trees along the driveway, and many more.

Money raised from the district goes toward many things, such as the Susan Campbell Memorial Scholarship, which goes to at least two seniors every year, one club scholarship, the Don and Belle Shumaker scholarship, and many others.

The club meets every second and fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran in North Robinson and is always looking for new members.

In the business portion of the meeting, the board approved the open enrollment application and guidelines for the 2025-2026 school year.

The monthly preschool fee schedule for the 2025-2026 school year was approved: Pre-K Monday-Thursday is $135; two-day preschool is $60; and four-day preschool is $100.

The parent and staff chaperone list for the eighth-grade trip to Washington D.C. from May 12-14 was approved pending background checks.

The board approved Heather Estrada as a softball assistant; Todd Roston, Brett DeGray, Corin Feik, and Jamie Valentine as ½ high school track assistants each; Lee Moore and Josh Riggle as ½ baseball assistants each; David Miller as spring weight room coordinator; Joey Bauer and Jordan Kiess as junior high track coaches; Taylor Kelso and Konner Moore as ¾ junior high track coaches; Jenna Starr as ½ junior high track coach; Sarah Frazier as a softball volunteer; Colton Moore as a track volunteer; and Greg Flannigan as the E-sports coach.

The board approved Bricker Graydon for legal counsel services for 2025 and Squire Patton Boggs as bond counsel for 2025.

A resolution to declare an urgent necessity, waive competitive bidding, and approve a contractor agreement with Damschroder Roofing Inc. for the roofing project on the PreK-12 building due to leak issues was approved.

The board also approved the new Language Arts curriculum for grades K-5 to meet the new Science of Reading requirements set forth by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
