Following a clean audit, Col. Crawford was announced as a recipient the Auditor of State Award Thursday by State Auditor Dave Yost.

Twenty local governments and school district were awarded the award with only Col. Crawford as the only entity from the county receiving the honor.

The following entities received the Auditor of State Award for their clean audit reports:
• Beacon Hill Community Academy (Wayne County)
• Buckeye Local School District (Jefferson County)
• Central Ohio Risk Management Association Self Insurance Pool, Inc. (Franklin County)
• Clermont County Educational Service Center – 2013 (Clermont County)
• Clermont County Educational Service Center – 2014 (Clermont County)
• Cleveland Community School (Cuyahoga County)
• Colonel Crawford Local School District (Crawford County)
• Cuyahoga Arts and Culture (Cuyahoga County)
• Mahoning Valley Opportunity Center (Mahoning County)
• McDonald Local School District (Trumbull County)
• Mound Street Health Careers Academy (Montgomery County)
• Mound Street IT Careers Academy (Montgomery County)
• Mound Street Military Careers Academy (Montgomery County)
• Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (Guernsey County)
• Pickaway County Educational Service Center (Pickaway County)
• Shadyside Local School District (Belmont County)
• Southern Local School District (Meigs County)
• Stark County Educational Service Center (Stark County)
• Villaview Community School (Cuyahoga County)
• Wyoming City School District (Hamilton County)

The Auditor of State Award is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. Entities that receive the award meet the following criteria of a “clean” audit report:

• The entity must file timely financial reports with the Auditor of State’s office in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles);
• The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or questioned costs;
• The entity’s management letter contains no comments related to:

o Ethics referrals
o Questioned costs less than $10,000
o Lack of timely report submission
o Reconciliation
o Failure to obtain a timely Single Audit
o Findings for recovery less than $100
o Public meetings or public records

• No other financial or other concerns exist.
