A fall clean-up workday is scheduled for Sunday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the historic Gill House at the corner of Gill Avenue and Harding Way West. The Workday is planned to make a major effort to clean the house and work on the exterior as part of preparations for the activities planned for this fall. All are welcome to volunteer for this workday. Volunteers are asked to bring cleaning supplies or tools to assist with this project.
“We hope to clean all the windows, wash down all the walls, and really clean the floors of this grand house,” said Brian Treisch, a member of Preserving Galion History (PGH). “We have many upcoming tours and events scheduled for the house and want the building to look its best.” Volunteers will be working on teams and specific tasks on Sunday.
PGH is a non-profit organization that owns the historic home. PGH is in the midst of a fund raising campaign to save this Galion landmark.
