Part-Time Parks Positions

Zoning Administrator Opportunity
The Engineering/Zoning Department is seeking a qualified Zoning Administrator. This full-time position comes with competitive benefits and OPERS. Here’s what you need to know:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Engineering Tech and City Engineer on zoning and engineering matters
- Maintain the city zoning map in accordance with the Bucyrus City Codified Ordinance
- Issue and ensure compliance with Zoning/Building and occupancy permits
- Review zoning issues for adherence to city ordinances
- Handle zoning appeals and zoning amendment applications
- Assist the Planning Commission and City Council in reviewing Subdivision/Development plans
- Inspect construction improvements to verify compliance with plans and specifications
- Maintain records and infrastructure inventory of city facilities
- Attend meetings of the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and City Council as needed
- Operate surveying equipment, AutoCad, Theodolites, electronic measuring devices, and computers (including internet)
- Work effectively with the general public, independently, and multitask
- Read maps and perform map maintenance
- Proficient in engineering and desktop publishing software programs
- Work both indoors and outdoors

Civil Service Examination
A Civil Service examination will be conducted on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Bucyrus City Hall (500 S. Sandusky Ave.). Applicants must achieve a passing score of 70% or greater. Those with honorable, active state, and federal military service can claim extra credit by providing appropriate documentation with their application.
