BUCYRUS—As the Bucyrus City Council was about to begin its work in the new year, Bucyrus City Mayor Jeff Reser had the pleasure of swearing in the originally appointed but most recently elected council member C. Aaron Sharrock. Sharrock is a Democrat serving the second Ward.
Before swearing her in, Bucyrus Mayor Jeff Reser told council and community guests that her appointment to council sets a new precedent for Bucyrus.
Sharrock will be the third generation of Sharrocks to serve the citizens of Bucyrus.
Her grandfather Clare Sharrock served as Bucyrus Mayor from 1966-1971. Her mother, Wanda Sharrock, served as Council At Large from 2014-2017 and her father, the Honorable Kennedy Clare Sharrock, served as the Crawford County Municipal Court Judge from 1990-1995.
Other newly elected council members include Brenton Potter R-First Ward, Terry Speigal R-Third Ward, and Steve Young Independent – Fourth Ward.
Both C. Aaron Sharrock and Council President Jenny Vermillion were appointed to complete vacancies on the council but newly elected to their respective seats.
