The Bucyrus City Council made short work of committee meetings Monday night finishing the three scheduled meetings in less than 15 minutes.

The Platting Commttee reviewed the proposed legislation for Friendship Lane. Friendship Lane will be located from Southern Avenue and extend to the bridge at the wastewater treatment plant. It will take up 2.79 total acres of real estate. Legislation for the road will go before City Council at its next meeting on November 3.

The Platting Committee was also informed that the Kaler/Wise easement project was finished. With no money changing hands for the project legislation is not required.

The Fire Department building/safety inspections – occupancy permit legislation was put on hold Monday night after the inspectors from Richland County were unable to appear. According to Bucyrus Law Director Rob Ratliff under the current code of ordinances there is nothing on occupancy permits which allows people to use and occupy abandoned structures.

The Finance Committee approved the updates made to the Codified Ordinances as compiled by the Walter H. Drane Company. The updates to the Bucyrus Codified Ordinances are reflected through August of 2015. Mayor Jeff Reser explained that the updated water rates were going to be included within the updates, but due to the city still working on the water rates they were not included.

The updates for the Codified Ordinances cost $2,500 which included replacement papers for the physical copies, four CDs to be used as back-up, updates to the code on the Internet, and shipping and handling.
