The entire community is invited to the Bucyrus Neighborhood Churches’ Block Party from 5-8 p.m., TUesday, Aug. 1 on Woodlawn Avenue between Walnut and Lane streets.

The block party is part of National Night Out, a police-community partnership intended to send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime and drug abuse.

Bring lawn chairs and the family to enjoy free food and beverages, games and prizes, balloons and bubbles, puppet shows and Bible stories, music and dancing and have a chance to see old friends and make new ones. Music will be provided by Sonix Soundz DJ Service.

The churches also are sponsoring a vacation Bible school from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, July 30, through Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Bucyrus United Methodist Church Outreach Center, 216 Hopley Ave. The children are invited to a free tailgate party before VBS at 5:30 p.m. in the outreach center parking lot.
