MARION—In an incident that occurred on June 1, 2023, at approximately 8:00 am, a pit bull viciously attacked a one-year-old child at a residence on Indiana Avenue in Marion.
According to reports, prior to the arrival of law enforcement and the dog warden, both the dog and its owner fled the scene. The pit bull in question was found to be owned by an acquaintance of the child’s mother. Efforts are underway to locate the owner, identified as Jonathan Fry, a 34-year-old individual with a last known address of 334 Columbia Court.
The child, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained severe injuries from the attack and was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
In response to the incident, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation and is actively seeking information to locate Jonathan Fry.
