Tuesday’s accident on U.S. 30 in Mansfield that claimed the life of a 19-year-old Crestline man has also resulted in charges filed against the truck driver involved.
Jaycob Pearson was killed Tuesday when a semitruck driven by 23-year-old Gurkipal Singh from Indiana hit the van in which Pearson was a passenger from behind just east of Trimble Road. A minor accident at Ohio 39 had slowed traffic and resulting in one lane of traffic. Singh’s truck hit the van and several other vehicles.
Singh has been arraigned on felony 3 aggravated vehicular homicide which carries a maximum penalty of 36 months in prison and a $10,000 fine. Singh’s bond was set at $100,000.
Mansfield police are continuing their investigation of the accident.
