BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Trey Dean, a sixth grader at Colonel Crawford Middle School, grew up watching his father and grandfather race at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk.

Trey was fascinated by the process of taking apart and improving race cars. When he was seven, he saw a junior dragster and asked his father to buy him one. His father agreed and helped him learn to drive it when he turned eight. Trey took his father’s advice to take things one step at a time and has excelled in the sport over the past three years.

With the support of his family, including his parents, stepparents, siblings, and grandparents, Trey has gained confidence in himself.

Trey Dean’s dedication and hard work paid off when he emerged victorious at the 2023 Bear Motorsports Intermediate Junior Dragster championship presented by Wiseco.

His exceptional performance earned him recognition at the 50th Annual Edelbrock Banquet of Champions presented by Lincoln Electric on January 28, 2024, held at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio.

Among his fellow racers, Trey was honored for his outstanding achievement.

Now a sixth grader at Colonel Crawford Middle School in North Robinson, Trey plays on the football team.
